**EDITED ON 2.19.2022: I will be going in on Monday (2.21.22) for a front-leg amputation. I don’t understand the medical talk, but it sounds like they thought I originally had cancer but then they did some more research and said I had something called “woven bone”. Once the amputation is behind me and I have made a full recovery, I will be on the lookout for my forever home! A missing limb won’t hinder me, since I rarely used it anyway. Please come back for updates! In the meantime, read below to get to know my personality.**
Hi! I’m Kratos. I was up on the euthanasia list as no one wanted to take me home. Thankfully UnbreakaBull stepped in and pulled me just in time. Oh! Just a reminder - I’m deaf. Please don’t pity me. That does me no good. I am just a regular dog - I don’t know that I’m deaf. I like to do dog things.
One of my favorite hobbies is napping. I love it. I am completely kennel trained & I also like to nap in there. My foster mom is working with me on my manners & I am learning how to be a gentleman! She says I am starting to get really good at my door manners. We have been working on hand signals together so we can easily communicate what is expected of me.
It’d be best for me to go to a home with no children. I can’t hear & children can be unpredictable which may make me nervous.
I am learning how to walk on the leash & my foster mom says I’m getting so good! She’s even taught me how to walk on a treadmill! How cool is that?! Especially for those hot summer days we can’t be outside long or those cold Minnesota winters where it’s below zero and a walk just isn’t possible. I am a low energy dog but I do need adequate exercise in order for me to feel fulfilled. After a walk or a treadmill session - I am all about those cuddles.
I am extremely interested in my foster moms three cats. I like to stick my nose right up into their face. My foster mom says I’m a little rude so I’m trying to learn how to be more polite. One of the cats even batted me in the face and I just walked away like “huh - what’s her deal?”. If I go to a home with cats I will need a dog savvy owner with a lot of experience to make sure I mind my manners.
I do struggle with some resource guarding which is being worked on during my board & train (who’s my foster mom). I have a hard time waiting for my food and I don’t like to be told “no” around it. Thankfully I’m learning what is appropriate and what is not quickly. I will need an experienced dog handler for my forever mom or dad. I’m not a bad dog - I just need a leader.
My tail wags non stop & I just adore my foster mom and dad. My whole body wiggles when I see them. Their assistant trainer is also becoming a fast friend. I just need slow introductions to new people. Please just ignore me and let me come to you first - I’ll let you know when I’m ready to snuggle. Overall my foster mom says I am a wonderful dog and I hear her whisper she wants to keep me sometimes so I must be special. She says that once I find my forever - she can help the next dog that was like me. How cool is that?!
Thanks for reading my biography! I just can’t wait to meet you & I’ll be waiting for the chance at my forever.
Love,
Kratos
