Hi friends; my name is Jake (no, I do not work at State Farm). I am about two years old and weigh about 45 pounds. This means I am small enough to cuddle up tight but big enough to go on big adventures with you. I am up to try new things and love getting to know new people. Please allow me to tell you about myself and hopefully you’ll want to meet me as much as I want to meet you.

I am energetic and love to have a good time, but I also love a good cuddle session when it’s time to calm down and relax. If you show me positive attention and affection, I will show you the same back times ten with sincere gratitude. Sometimes this amount of love means I get very excited and jump up, but I am working hard on this.

I am already kennel trained, potty trained, and do very well with sit. I am very treat/food motivated and extremely eager to please so with proper training I will have other tricks and behaviors down in no time. If you help me channel my energy into positive behaviors, I will continue to impress you and show my eagerness to learn and please.

For the amount of energy I have, I don’t really bark much. I can bark; I just usually prefer not to. I will however admit that I will whine somewhat loudly from my kennel if I still hear you moving around, but I do settle down after a little while.

I have certainly been around other dogs in the past when I was younger and tended to do well with them with proper intros, proper boundaries set and enforced, and proper outlets for my energy. However as I have gotten older I have seemed to enjoy a home without other dogs as I really love my humans and prefer I am the center of attention. I would thrive most in an active home where I can get plenty of exercise, love, training, and fun.
